Snacking Guidelines
All children have two breaktimes every day and we ask parents to provide a healthy snack for their child to have at school.
Healthy snackboxes are very important at Loydence Academy and we encourage all children to have a healthy diet.
- Sandwiches/wraps
- Fruit
- Vegetables e.g. cucumber/carrot
- Cereal bar
- Yoghurt
- Fruit juice/water
- Chicken nuggets
- Chips
- Cake
- Chocolate
- Biscuits
- Crisps
- Pizza
- Fizzy juice e.g. Cola/Sprite
- Flavoured milk
On Thursdays, the children are allowed a treat and can have ONE treat item like such as a small bar of chocolate or a small cake. If you are unsure about what is allowed for your child's snack, please ask for a copy of our Healthy Eating policy entitled – “Eat Better, Do Better!”
How you received information
There are a variety of ways that we keep parents informed about school life. All parents are given a half-termly diary sheet with information about important events in school. Updated sheets are sent regularly as more events are added to the calendar.
Every year group receives a newsletter that details what particular topics are being studied, as well as other information about PE days and other activities that may be happening in their year group.
All letters are sent home with children and a copy sent to parents.
Future plans
We are hoping to become Qatar's very first eco- friendly school. We are very energy conscious and ensure that all lights and AC units are switched off overnight. We will be having recycling bins in every classroom and from October 2013, each class will have a planting patch to look after.
